Learning Center
The Port Gibson Learning Center, now established in one building on the campus of the former Chamberlain-Hunt Academy, is set to revitalise the local education landscape. It offers daily afterschool programming; but it isn’t your typical “daycare” program. Instead, it is an afterschool program which creates new passions by opening doors to opportunities which were likely never explored before; everything from science to music to dance.
As part of the daily program — which runs Monday through Friday, 3-7 PM every day — each day involves two specialty activities, help with homework plus time spent with guided play exploring board games, self-expression through creativity and other activities. Kids can be dropped off as early as 2:45, and the program even includes a daily snack to ensure all students are well-fed for the day.
